Read the state coverage carefully

New Mexico uses a mandatory, uniform statewide construction code set (Commercial and Residential Building Codes) adopted by the Construction Industries Division of the Regulation and Licensing Department, with local jurisdictions enforcing but not substantively varying the code. New Mexico uses the Uniform Plumbing Code and Uniform Mechanical Code (IAPMO family) rather than ICC's IPC/IMC, so those ICC families do not apply here. Fire code is separately adopted statewide by the State Fire Marshal's Office.

Authority: New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department, Construction Industries Division (CID); New Mexico State Fire Marshal's Office; CID Electrical Bureau (electrical code).
